 "Much Better!" 2009-09-15
By R. Morris (USA)
I used to work at Timex in the Data link Tech Department. The old style watches were not very good, they fell apart easy, and you really couldn't get the seal back on them after replacing the battery just to name a couple problems.

I took a chance not knowing what changes had been made in quality by grabbing this watch. I needed something like this because you can put a ton of alarms with custom messages. I need custom alarms every 3 hours.

Well I'm impressed.. the new USB cable is a huge improvement over the LED transmitter or the CRT method of sending data to the watch. I've had a water main explode 2 feet from me...soaked. I've dropped it a couple times. My 3 yr old has had it... Well I'll leave it at the 3 yr old cause that's pretty extreme here lol.

The only thing I don't like is the band, it's the same "hollow" light feeling band you get on most cheap watches. But it's all good, it didn't cost as much as my Bulova, and I didn't buy it for style :-)

Works great, easy and quick to program, and my worn out ears can hear the alarms just fine.

"Men's Data Link USB Replacement Watchband" 2009-08-31
By Richard A Beran (Pittsburgh, PA United States)
Although a bit bulky, I really like the watch which I bought to replace an original DataLink that needed a CRT to update. My only problem was in finding a replacement watchband when one of the rubber links broke.

After much searching I finally found that replacement Timex bands are available at 800-328-2677 for $12.

 "very nice" 2009-08-30

Nice watch, much more classy looking for dress or casual, the metal band is the way to go, just not easy to find the watchband for replacement when needed for either style unless you call Timex to order one.

 "Watch parts" 2009-08-10
By Michael A. Jasik
This is a duplicate watch of one that I ordered a year ago. That one still works great with the exception that the crown was lost. Since this is the part that is needed to advance notes, contacts etc it is essential. I could not get a part for this anywhere. I contacted timex who would only tell me to send the watch back, which is impossible because of all the info on the watch that I needed on a day to day basis.

The watch contains my work life and I count on it daily for contacts, notes, and other stored information.

The previous one that I had prior to the above one lasted me well over 3 years with no problems. It is a great help and I would have a hard time without it. Since this is the 3d one that I had and only had problems with one, I guess it's not to bad.

Only wish that there was a way to order parts, especially simple ones like bands and crowns.

"good concept, bad USB connection, and cheap band" 2009-08-08
By HB2009
I had one for almost 3 years. I like the idea of carrying a little PDA as a wrist watch. But the first watch I got would not connect to my PC, so I exchanged for a new one. The second one worked and I could enter limited phone #, calendar, etc. However, USB connection stopped working 2 year ago, even after I put in a new battery. I can't use it as a PDA any more, only as a stop watch with more convenient alarm options (daily, weekly, Saturday, Sunday, etc.). A few weeks ago, the watch band began to break at the rubber links. I have to buy a new watch band that does not match the watch very well (I can't find a matching replacement band). I wish Timex makes more durable watch bands and more robust USB connection for this versatile watch.
