Perfect for rugged adventurers and weekend warriors, the solar-powered Casio Pathfinder men's sport watch is loaded with a digital compass and altimeter/barometer/thermometer--perfect for both mountain trekking and cave spelunking. Many others have commented on the features of the watch, and it is an impressive piece of technology.
There is, however, a BUYER BEWARE issue with the watch band. Adjusting this band without purchasing one of the link removal gadgets would be nearly impossible, and even then it is very difficult. Casio has NO information in the supplied manual about the watch band. When I contacted them, they sent me a pdf file with directions on adjusting five different watch bands, none of which applied to the band on the 1500. When I spoke for a second time to customer service their only solution was to go to a jeweler if links needed to be removed. Ultimately, with the use of a link remover I was able to make the adjustment, but it was moderately complex, and required great care not to lose the unique tiny metal cylinders that hold the links together. Casio was for me frustratingly un-helpful in the process.

Pathfinders are part of Casio's outdoor line they are designed for hiking and skiing. This model has a compass, barometer, thermometer, altimeter, and stopwatch built in along with a tide graph and moon age. It is water resistant to 200 meters which works great. I loved the atomic timekeeping and solar charging. This makes the watch self contained no batteries to change, nothing to wind, nothing to set when the time changes. Something that you can just put on and not even worry about.
This thing is huge I believe it is a 50mm watch but is very light on the wrist because of the meterials it is made from. Titanium is a very strong yet light meterial. Because it is so big this thing isn't something you can wear as a dress watch. It isn't your formal watch however it is a watch you will want if you are lost in the forest or wehn you are going skiing.

The main reason of my title it is required to many attention for adjustment. Without special knowledge it is too difficult use the most of options of this watch. And I was disappointed that I not found the instruction on russian language in the packing of goods. But the rest is wonderful. Lightweight, comfortable wristlet beautiful and comfortable watch.

I upgraded my Pathfinder PAG-50 (solar) with this watch. That watch is still going strong after 6 years. This is a very solid feeling watch. The profile appears a bit smaller than my old watch and the weight is about the same. I like the black bezel on gray. The watch band comes several sizes too large and you will need to remove one or more links. Not a difficult task, you can use a large paperclip and a pair of pliers or use the pin remover that is offered. Just keep in mind there is a 1/8" long insert in each link (to keep the pin in place)that will fall out and get lost if you are not careful. As with my old watch, I like the band to fit tight and not move around, so I removed two links. There is another "fine" adjustment on the clasp. You will probably love or hate the metal band. I love the titanium bands and they are very durable and don't require frequent replacement. Setting up the watch with the use of the manual was not difficult. I must say I am impressed with Amazon's price and shipping. I went with the 1 day delivery option. I received in less than 23 hours to a rural location 60 miles north of Denver. Rob

All, this simply is a great watch. I've owned it now for about a year, and I can honestly say that I'm no longer looking for another watch, and this is from a watch geek. From my home, I can sync nightly with Colorado, with no major issues. Then comparing it to computer time / tv time, it's right on schedule. It's solar powered, and I've always had a "high" power rating. It predicts tides accurately when I go on vacation. It is a big watch, but it's also very light. I find the barometer to be a good indicator of predicting weather patterns, as long as you're at the same relative elevation, as documented in the manual.
