 "Fragile." 2009-08-11

The band pulls apart from the watch case, the buttons pop off, and the paint flakes off.

In short, a rather fragile watch that will work for anyone that won't really do much with it.

This is the 3rd or 4th of these that I've bought.

This has the perfect combination of features that I need.

I especially need the interval timers that I use with my clients and students for different exercise drills. All of it's features work as they should. The watch is comfortable and the dual time feature works great when I'm traveling to a differnt time zone.

The only reason that I've had to replace them is that usually around the 2yr mark, it dies and I figure that I'll just get a new one rather than send it in or get a battery or whatever.

I hope that if and when they quit making this model, that they continue with a new model that still included the interval timers and dual time.

Like many forms of their watches, I really think that if Timex is smart about their decission making on what watches get what features, they'll find that this one is needed in the line-up...good work so far...

 "Great Watch!" 2009-07-17

I love this watch! It's a little bigger than my older Ironman Watches but it's very practical---large display on screen, securing mechanism on strap, and easy to use functions. Everything is very intuitive and straight forward and the memory splits with storage are awesome for working out. The Flix system is cool, but I haven't really found much of a need for it yet. Overall, for the price it's a great watch.

 "Superb Value" 2009-07-17
By A. Darr (O-H----I-O)
As far as watches go, it's hard to beat this watch for the money. I'm a very active individual, and have considered going to the next level with my watch (i.e. heart rate, altimeter, thermometer) but have been reluctant to pull the trigger on a $300+ watch. So I stick with this timeless (no pun intended) classic. At the end of the day, what makes the watch so good, is that it just works! Anyone who is remotely familiar with a watch knows that $43 is an excellent price for something that you'll have 5 years (at least). And for that money the watch does exactly what you want it to. The watch has a timer, chronograph, dual time zones, and excellent alarms (you can set 5 different alarms). It is my go-to companion at the gym or outdoors. I had a FLIX about 4 years ago that I lost, and replaced with this model. This model's Indiglo/Night Light/Whatever-you-call-it is phenomenal. My old FLIX was not easy to see with the indiglo at night, but this watch has fantastic contrast when the indiglo is on.

And the indiglo is easy to use without actually pressing the button every time. By pressing and holding the indiglo button for three seconds the watch goes in to night mode. In night mode any button press, or a flick of the wrist turns on the indiglo for three full seconds. It gives you an opportunity to check the time, your pace while running, whatever you may need. It may seem gimicky, but the FLIX feature is actually very nice. Imagine walking down the sidewalk, holding hands with your child or significant other, and you want to check the time. Just flick your wrist and look at your watch - no need to let go of their hand and press and hold a button. I know that seems minor, but it will amaze you how much you'll love the FLIX feature.

To comment on the alarms. You can have up to five programmed in the watch, and they are easily activated or deactivated with the push of a button. The alarm itself is great, because it's annoying as heck. It's more than just a beep-beep, it's this bizarre, loud almost music-like tone that is certain to wake you.

In a nutshell, you can't go wrong with this item. Would make a great Birthday or Christmas/Holiday gift for anyone high school and up.

BUY!
